When “Good Enough” Isn’t Good Enough: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Caring for Adults Using Substances at the End of Life

Abstract This paper draws on data from one strand of a six-strand, exploratory study end life care for adults using substances (AUS). It presents the key informant (KI) that aimed to identify models practice in UK. Participant recruitment was purposive and used snowball sampling recruit KIs range health social care, policy backgrounds. Data were collected 2016–2017 20 semi-structured interview approach. The analysed template analysis as discussed by King (2012). focusses two seven resulting themes, namely “Definitions perceptions terms” substance use sectors, “Service commissioning delivery.” demonstrated dedicated individual practice, but critical systemic failure provide adequate direction resources support people at their lives.
